About The Spotted Zebra Learning Center

The Spotted Zebra Learning Center was created in 2005 as a labor of love.  It grew out of a need for Sheri Canfield to create a program that would meet the special needs of her son as well as provide the programming support she needed as a working parent.  As such, the Spotted Zebra Learning Center was the first of its kind in the Capital Region to provide an integrated preschool program along with a wraparound component that could support the working family.   The model grew from one classroom to three classrooms and from there to the creation of a private integrated kindergarten.

Spotted Zebra Learning CenterIn 2014, moving to a larger building located at 26 Computer Drive East, the organization expanded its operation into the early intervention field by providing services to children ages birth to 3 years old. Additionally, the agency grew its outreach by supporting children needing special education services at their daycares or school programs they attended.  Those on-site services have truly helped children become more successful in those settings.

Spotted Zebra Learning Center - PlaygroundOver the last several years, the agency has grown in areas they see and feel the most need.  Evaluation services have become a large component of the agency with over 150 preschool evaluations being completed each year!!  And finally, in 2020, in the midst of COVID, the Spotted Zebra Learning Center saw a need for traditional preschool model for children ages 3 and 4.   These classes, called the Bizzy Beez, are now conducted at 145 Wolf Road, and provide children with a 2 ½ hour integrated preschool experience.

The Spotted Zebra Learning Center remains committed to this community and is grateful to the staff who work tirelessly day in and day out to provide the most they can to our children. Without them, Spotted Zebra would not be.
